Job Description
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual who is community minded and has fund raising experience. The board of directors is responsible for all activities of the organization.
Activities
-
Determines the mission of the organization
-
Determines how the organization will carry out its mission through long and short-range planning
-
Actively supports fund raising on an ongoing basis
-
Adopts an annual budget and provides fiscal oversight recruits, orients, and develops board members
-
Hires and evaluates the performance of the executive director
-
Evaluates overall performance of the organization in achieving the mission
-
Establishes policies for the effective management of the organization
Responsibilities
-
To Understand and promote the organization’s mission Be familiar with the organization’s programs, policies, and operations
-
Attend board meetings and appropriate committee meetings
-
Actively serve on at least one committee and be willing to take on special assignments
-
Review agenda and supporting documents prior to meetings
-
Make an annual contribution to the organization commensurate with ability
-
Participate in fund-raising activities and special events
Time Demands
-
Meet with potential donors/funders with the Executive Director
-
Attend and actively participate in:
-
board meetings (generally 1 per month, on the 3rd Thursday)
-
committee meetings and related work
-
the annual planning retreat
-
annual meetings
-
fundraising events
-
new board member orientation
-
Financial and Resource Development Expectations
-
Make an annual gift that is commensurate or significant according to your circumstance

Assist in selling tickets to fundraising events, recruit sponsors, as needed
-
Identify and cultivate potential donors
