We Care Tucson’s Youth Tech & Robotics Camps offer an exciting series of immersive, hands-on learning experiences designed for students entering 3rd through 9th grade. Through engaging one-week camps, participants explore computer technology, coding, robotics, and engineering by building, repairing, programming, and experimenting with real-world tech systems. Campers learn the inner workings of computers, discover responsible e-recycling practices, and develop problem-solving skills through creative, project-based challenges.

Camp offerings now include specialized robotics and STEM-focused weeks where students build moving solar systems, robotic vehicles, interactive light displays, and coded creations that bring technology to life. Each week culminates in a showcase or friendly competition, giving campers the opportunity to proudly demonstrate what they’ve built and learned.

Week 1 (June 1 - 5) (9:30 am to 3:30 pm) Tech Explorer Lab is a hands-on coding and technology camp where young innovators explore the inner workings of a computer and build problem-solving and creativity through interactive projects.

 

Week 2 (June 8 - 12) (9:30 am to 3:30 pm) Robotic Orbits: Astronomy in Motion invites campers to explore space through hands-on robotics as they build, light, and program moving solar systems. The week culminates in a Solar Science Fair where students proudly showcase their creations in motion.

Week 3 (June 15 - 19) (9:30 am to 3:30 pm) Digital Discovery Camp: Digital Discovery Camp takes campers beyond the basics as they apply coding and technology skills to design interactive projects, experiment with digital tools, and solve real-world challenges. This week emphasizes creativity, critical thinking, and innovation through hands-on exploration.

Week 4 (June 22 - 26) (9:30 am to 3:30 pm) Bots Gone Wild: Mechanics, Motors & Mayhem challenges campers to build and remotely control robotic vehicles while learning how motors, mechanics, and engineering systems work together. The week wraps up with an action-packed Battle Bots 2.0 competition where campers put their favorite creations to the test.

Week 5 (June 29 - July 2) (9:30 am to 3:30 pm) GlowCode Lab: Tech Fusion of Light and Sound invites campers to combine coding, technology, and creativity as they program light displays to react to music. Using computers and robotics, students transform sound into motion and color, bringing their digital creations to life.

New this year, We Care Tucson is launching Tech Trek Camp, a four-week advanced summer program designed for high school students entering grades 10–12. Tech Trek blends hands-on STEAM learning with leadership development and real-world career exploration. Participants engage in immersive technology and robotics projects that build skills in engineering design, programming, electronics, troubleshooting, and collaborative problem-solving, while exploring STEAM career pathways through field trips, guest speakers, and exposure to local businesses and organizations.

In addition to technical training, students participate in a Counselor-In-Training leadership track focused on communication, conflict resolution, inclusion, mentoring, and teamwork, with opportunities to earn First Aid and CPR certification. Led by experienced mentors and passionate professionals, Tech Trek creates a fun, inclusive environment that sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and prepares students with practical skills, leadership experience, and a clear pathway from learner to leader for future education, careers, and paid peer-mentor opportunities with We Care Tucson.
