TechFest
TechFest is We Care Tucson's free community technology day — an afternoon where families can try technology they may not have access to, meet local resource organisations, and see what our youth programs actually do.
Education

What happens at TechFest

Gaming Den — supervised gaming stations open to all ages.

Computer Basics — short walk-up sessions covering the fundamentals, run by the same instructor who teaches our free weekly classes.

Talk to Chat — a hands-on introduction to AI assistants for people who have never used one.

Scrap to Art — a collaboration with University of Arizona Art & Visual Culture Education students, turning salvaged electronic components into artwork.

Resource Fair — local organisations sharing services, including Adult Basic Education for College and Career.

Food truck on site.
Why we run it
The digital divide in Southern Arizona is not only about hardware. Plenty of families have a device and no confidence using it, or no idea that free classes and low-cost computers exist a few miles away. TechFest is how we reach those neighbours in person.
